The brigs are in Docklands!
Our brigs BOB and CAROLINE are in West India dock, Canary Wharf, doing what they do best: sailing with local primary school children and doing it where tall ships have never sailed before. On Friday 30th April at approx. 10 a.m. both brigs will sail under Tower Bridge - without it opening.

We have named our second Brig!
T.S. Caroline Allen was named in Cowes on Saturday by Caroline Harris, the sister of Bob Allen who left money for the first brig and the hull of the second. The ceremony took place on the pontoon of the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.
The 30 foot steel brig T.S. CAROLINE ALLEN was blessed by the Rev. Mary Strange of St. Peter’s Church, Seaview, IoW. It was then named by Caroline Harris, brother of Bob Allen who died in 1992 and whose estate paid for the hull of the sister vessel that bears his name and the hull of CAROLINE ALLEN.
Both vessels were then dedicated to the service of square rig sail training for young sailors by Maldwin Drummond, OBE, DL.
Plans for 2010 include a two week visit to London in April. Normally the brigs sail in the Solent.
Trustee Max Mudie said: “This is a very special moment for us. For the Trust, for the estate of the late Bob Allen but most of all for all the young sailors who will get to try the fun of sailing a square rigged vessel. Sailing a tall ship is an amazing experience. We can offer it to those too young to sail on the bigger ships”

2nd Brig sails for 1st time
Our second brig - T.S. CAROLINE ALLEN - sailed for the first time on Saturday 1st August. Completed with funding from the People's Millions Lottery Fund she sailed with her sister vessel BOB ALLEN off Cowes on Saturday afternoon. The completion of these two brigs is a major achievement for us but it is also a tribute to the late Bob Allen. He left us in August 1992 and wanted his estate to go to providing 'sail training under square rig for younger cadets'. We now have two brigs that can take 10 young people sailing to carry out that mission.

Over the last few weeks we have begun to paint the inside of our new boat Caroline Allen. This is only the start, we will keep you up to date as the project progresses. Don’t forget to give us a call if you would like to get involved.
At present we are compiling our program for the next season. If you are interested in sailing please give us a call or send us an email. We are able to do half days, whole days or trips for special events such as birthdays.
